Spring-Loaded Flash Drive
This project was my first attempt at designing a multi-part assembly with moving components. Before enrolling in a formal engineering program, I took an additive manufacturing course at a local makerspace,
where one of the exercises involved measuring and recreating a flash drive in CAD. I enjoyed the process so much that I took the assignment a few steps further and created a spring-loaded, out-the-front flash drive case.
Working through this design taught me a lot about mechanism layout and practical 3D printing design — from minimizing the footprint of the ejecting system to preventing accidental deployment.
